    Whats up Everyone.
New member. Just wanting to ask a question. How hard is it to change the head cover gaskets.

Its the 3100. I was thinking of changing the head gasket and everything else from the gaskets to the top of the engine. As long as there isnt any problems when i do tear it apart. How much do the head gaskets, vavle cover gaskets and the intake manifold gaskets cost anyone.

You can get a head gasket kit from Fel-Pro that has everything you need from the head gaskets up for around $100. Add in new head bolts for another $20 or so. The first time I did the job, it was 2 full days to get it all swapped out.

              Ok Bzopi,
When i do tear it apart is there any specific things i should look for with some of the parts out like the valves or pushrods or the cylinder head for warpage. I am very new to this bu i have friends help when i go to do this. I will try and do the work in 3 to 4 days straight with my vacation time. Also is there anything major that i could screw up if i do do this.

              Thanks

If you are changing the head gaskets b/c you one blew, I would get the heads checked for warpage and decked if they are warped

                  Robby1870,
I dont think that it has been blown. I still drive it and it doesnt overheat or use coolant or anything. I was just going to change them because i am coming up on 150K and i just wanted to get some stuff done to it.

I gotcha. Everything is pretty straight forward. Might be a good idea to run your valves while you got the heads off, not that they will need it, but since your doing a "tune up" it couldnt hurt.
