I just picked up a BNIB GM 3.4L VIN "S" LIM Water Pipe Triple Tree off of eBay ...but need some help with finding the hardware/plastic seal to install it on the LIM...and the "How To" to do the job right. I'm not certain about their nomenclature and I'd like to know where to find the New Parts for this item... (Image Attached). Thanks in Advance for the help...

i bought one of those from GMpartsdirect for my build earlier. The plastic part you are referring to comes inside of the metal nipple that it goes in to. I think i may actually have an extra one.. since they came in a set of 2. I will go check!

It looks very similar to the heatercore pipe connector used in the early 3100's. Dorman part # 800401 at rockauto.com. Double-check to make sure it interchanges though.
Edit: P/N is for the whole unit that threads into the manifold, not just the plastic bit.1995 Grand Am SE

It is amazing how hard it is sometimes to find something when you don't know what its called and it is not in your "Every-Day-Lexicon". But sure enough... use the right search expression...and Bingo! It is still odd that even between the Chevrolet Camaro and the Lumina... slightly different names are used to describe the same part. Here are the names and numbers on this little thing: (From ROCKAUTO)
DORMAN Part # 800401 More Info {OE Solutions #15622861, 15739936, 24503681, 24503682, 88891732, 88891735} Heater Inlet Hose Fitting at Engine
Now... if I can just figure out how to install the fitting along with the pipe without it either leaking or cracking the LIM when I put them all together... Of course...since I absolutely swear by this stuff for sealing all manner of threads, etc... I'll be dosing up the threads on this fitting with some ARP Thread Sealer to reduce the chances of any leaks (ARP Thread Sealer images of product description attached)Last edited by 60dgrzbelow0; 12-22-2009, 11:56 PM.
