Where is the oil?

After reassembling on a intake manifold, I noticed a tapping noise. when I look inside the oil fill opening, no oil is lubricating the rockers. I have no warning light for low oil or pressure and the oil is at full on the dip stick. Any idea on how to fix or where to look for the problem?

Can you spec out your car/engine/mileage/prior problems just a little? When you did the re-assembly, did you also completely Drain the Oil and change or remove the Oil Filter and then re-fill and measure the Oil Level? If you installed a New Oil Filter...did you Pre-Fill it with Oil B4 installing it on the engine block? Was this motor standing unused for an extended period of time? If so... Did you "Pre-Oil" the engine prior to starting the engine? Did you use any Engine Assembly Lubrication ...such as Melling or Federal Mogul Engine Assembly Lube or anything like Moly-D Grease when installing any other major components...(Camshaft...Lifters...Pushrods...Rock er Arms)?
