Don't tear anything apart. TPS isn't dying, IAC isn't clogged. Everything was doing what it should given a non idle TPS %. Reset the ECM by pulling the fuse 5 seconds. thats it If its constantly happening, then replace the ECM or check wiring.
mine takes at LEAST 30 minutes before anything gets reset... not sure why.

Ah well... Time for a little "Mokusatsu..."

Moving on... What about Manual Kill Switches or Emergency Fuel Cut-Off Switches? This video shows how to install one... but does not specify whether switching it off would kill the engine once the motor is running.

A killswitch is exactly what you think it is: A switch that kills an operation in an emergency situation when the operation can't be shut down in the usual manner. It shuts your operation no matter what the consequences.

i have a killswitch wired in the MC.... but it's more antitheft than anti-crash... it WILL stop the motor in less than 1 second. lack of fuel pressure will do that easily.

I had that same problem in the first ECM swap I did. All that was needed was to unplug and re-plug the TPS while the car was running, but I am sure resetting it would have worked as well.

When resetting the PCM (I dont do that lol) but you could disconnect the battery then hold down the brake pedal or turn on the lights to help drain any capacitors in the system.

basically, i just took the +12V wire for the fuel pump, cut it, then crimped on some flat spade terminals(?) and plugged it into a rocker switch with an LED to let me know when power is being applied....

so, all i have to do is flip the rocker, no more power to the pump.

                  Redneckin it!

Love it, but why crimp connector? solder FTW.

i really didn't feel like playing with a soldering iron in that cramped of an area... that and i really don't see an advantage to using solder in this application...
