One thing that happened to me last week (may not be applicable to you) is that the exhaust side pcv disconnected and was causin my engine to idle unusually high. IAC was at 0 and throttle was at .45V
Weird huh?

take your iac out and clean it. prob all gummed up if you havent touched it in awhile.
well, that's two now... so you're suggesting the TPS % but not voltage being high is just a coincidence? it was perfectly fine last night and i have the log just afew seconds away...

I would keep my eye on the TPS sensor. My first experience with a bad one was right after I washed it with the throttlebody it was attached to in a Z28. The car was unruley after that. It idled high on startup, surged, accelerated and decelerated abruptly to the point of making me afraid to press the accelerator. Electronic engine management makes it possible for all sorts of weird things to happen.
I suppose most of you have heard about the runaway electric throttlebodies in one of the imports that have been alleged to have caused some deaths, including one where a car suddenly accelerated off a cliff. The driver survived to tell about it and explained that despite how hard he was pressing on the accelerator, the car could not be stopped, his wife died.
If I recall correctly, it was mentioned that an automatic disable of the throttle was not programmed into the PCM for when the brakes were applied. I can't find the words to address that.
That's one of the stupidist inventions in terms of risk in an automobile I can think of, a direct link by a computer to your throttlebody that can second guess your throttle input or the lack there of. PCM; "You've got one minute to make a decision because we're going somewhere like it or not".
Robert... just to confirm that nothing has been stuck inside the mouth of the TB to make it physically stick and stay open...did your Gas Pedal drop to the floor when all of this was happening? Can you see any signs of scratches or dents...or even a loose Butterfly Plate inside the maw of the thing? Now THAT is something that would worry me...on the conspiracy side of the problem.

i was about to go pull the intake tube off and check, but realized i gotta go pick someone up from school...
but no: the throttle SEEMED to come all the way up, go all the way down, no catching at all, it's just that the ECM refused to acknowledge that i wanted it to idle and it didn't want to...

Its the old principle in Chemistry that "Like Likes to Dissolve Like...". So...its a Polarity issue...Water+Sugar = Sugar Water because they are a polar match... but Gasoline is Non-Polar, so the Sugar will not dissolve into the fuel. It might plug up a fuel line if ingested... but it won't ruin the engine in solution, etc.

Joe... I know that the sensor pick-ups on each wheel of the 4th Gen F-Bodies are used via a tiny reluctor ring adjacent to the inner bearing race to provide rotational work the ABS to "grab and release" bookoo times per second to avoid locking up the wheels on skittish ground... So couldn't the programmable ECMs be modified with a table to handle that contingency as an automatic fuel pump cut-off if the TPS is at WOT and the brakes are depressed in vehicles equipped with ABS? The program logic on this would be simple to write as an elegant conditional loop:
If TPS {Throttle Position Sensor}>=WOT!
and If WR {Wheel Rotation} = YES!
and If BFP {Brake Fluid Pressure} = YES!
Then FPEP {Fuel Pump Electrical Power }= OFF!
else... BOTSWAKYAGB! {Bend Over The Steering Wheel and Kiss Your Ass GOOD BYE! }
endIf

I hate DBW. The 08 G6 3900 max TPS is 86%. It hesitates if you jab the throttle (and I almost got hit once). So lame.
Don't tear anything apart. TPS isn't dying, IAC isn't clogged. Everything was doing what it should given a non idle TPS %. Reset the ECM by pulling the fuse 5 seconds. thats it If its constantly happening, then replace the ECM or check wiring.
Luck Trumps Skill... Like a S&W beats... Four Aces. Robert is alive to tell us the story... So is my Son. So I'll take Luck... any time I can get it...
I find nothing lucky about being a sore loser at a poker table. Also please don't drum this up like he did something special by driving a defective car. He knew there was a problem before leaving his driveway. If he got involved in an accident because he couldn't stop, then guess who we would be calling an idiot.
