  • unknown problem

I replaced all the intake gaskets and I screwed up the order of 2 of the pushrods ( long one broke through rocker) I installeed the new rocker and pushrods (in the right location this time) I tried starting it up but it barely runs. I just put new plugs and wires and pcv valve on it as well. The car was running fine other than the oil leaking out of the distributor cover.

I haven't let it run very long because i fear I am going to break or ruin something but I haven't even got the coolant back in it.

    any suggestions?

I wanted to get the radiator fluid topped up so I started it and left it running while adding fluids and I wasn't getting any messages until the motor began warming up 3 minutes in I got a check engine light.

I don't hear any major noise but the motor just revs and drops not much maybe 30rpm

I made the same mistake the first time I did my LIM. I was lucky and did not break a rocker but shattered a push rod, I also bent the intake valve when it struck the piston. I would check compression on the cylinder that you swapped the push rods on. I got lucky again as I was able to lap in a junk yard valve, and got it up and running again.

      Good Luck

how do you put in the new valve if that's the problem? that may be my problem. I thought I may have a fuel problem so I took it in to the dealer. they said there is no compression in cylinder 4.

I had to remove the head, remove the valve spring. Then I pulled the old valve out slid the new one in and used a valve lapper and lapping compound to get a good seal.
