Question : 96 3100 SFI low oil light comes on

My low oil light comes on if the car has not been started for a while. I turn the key forward and the light stays on; if i cycle the key twice the light does not stay on....it has been doing this for the entire time i have had thecar. I do not drive it at all when the light is on.

Any ideas? Something to do with the sensor on the oil pan maybe?

Low oil light

So from what i read in the article it appears that the oil switch is locking open. The car does not run any different when the light is on, not that i drive it at all under the "low oil" condition. Thanks for the post.
