Well...At least I got the part about "Vent" being in the driveway right... But DAMN.... I wish I could have also been right on my guess about this one...

I wonder, call me nuts, cause that does NOT sound like a rod/main bearing going bad, how possible is it that a baffle in the oil pan broke loose, and the crank is slapping it around?

I would be pulling the oil pan ASAP, cause I don't think its anything bad

could be your oil pump rattling like a ho bag to and needs to be replaced

      and stop running it already

Pause the video at :43 and put your glasses on :P You will see a yellow ratchet strap in place of the upper motor mount (aka dogbone).

And, Bob, I DO know what a ratchet strap is! I have about umpteen of them - no need to show a video ROFL.

EDIT: If you wanted to entertain us while ventricle took another video, at least put something cool on

And I am NOT talking about the jumps, I want the Pontiac with the "skybox" seats.

OMG !!! That is the guy I like to call "SHIRTLESS... BUT NOT DIRTLESS"

Please take no offense... the video was for ME to kill some time until the poor OP managed to get back in the house and breathlessly tell us how "Unlucky in Vegas" one can really be. ! (I've never used one used by the way...but Good Eye for spotting one here...LOL)

Yeah, I had just made the second video when I saw that comment, so I was a little unhappy. As for the strap, the aluminum bracket that the dogbone bolts to broke, leaving me without an upper mount. That strap was supposed to be temporary; I put it on back in August. I am almost finished collecting parts to replace that bracket, along with the head that got damaged, and this happens.

The really weird thing, to me at least, maybe not to you guys, is that it sounds and acts completely normal while driving.

still, drop the pan to be safe, something is obviously in there, cause I swear to god that does not sound like a bearing going bad

when a bearing is going bad, its usually a low tone noise, not.........THAT

im putting my money on the lose rocker, and when revving it just gets enough RPM to deaden the noise, it doesnt sound very quiet to me when you rev it, but i never heard it before all this....

Take the valve covers off and look at the rockers. Could be a broken pushrod guide letting the rocker rotate and the pushrod bounce off the valve covers.

lol i had a car once that decided it wanted one of its valves to look like a pizza missing a piece. the triangle missing from the valve was probably somewhere down near the cat, i never found it anyhow. lol

that car made 0 noise when it ran, mind you it was running on 3.5 cylinders, and got 0 compression on most of them. lol

did you put your hand on the oil pan while you were down there? did you feel any kind of impacts on it from the inside? at least it's a genII without the crossbolts on the pans - those are fun to get to with an auto. i'd drop the pan and see what's what. gasket is cheap if it's an easy fix.

Are your torque converter bolts loose?

Rod bearing noise get louder under load... this is a no load situation so I highly doubt its a bearing. It could be internals in the transmission though, but I'm sure if that were the case it wouldn't be shifting all that right...

I also put my video's on Photobucket.. That way I don't have to listen to the ass holes of the world making comments on my car.

I should post up my most recent vid, Just to see what happens...

Maybe the distributor "cap" assembly (that part that holds the oil pump drive shaft) is sloppy? You take off the serp belt to see if it goes away? Could be the belt tensioner too. Other than that, check the t-converter bolts.

                                Love the narrating!
