burping the coolant system on a fiero is always a must. and difficult on a motor swap. is there any good way to successfully burp the fiero coolant system with a 3500? it looks as if it would be the same as a 3400 from the ones ive seen at the junkyard

On the thermostat neck, there should be one. Also on the top of the water pump there is one on top of the black pipe. Wait till the engine is hot enough for the thermostat to open, then open those up, and rev it a bit (I've found that helps push out stuck air) and then close them while the coolant is flowing out.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

Nah not that bad. On mine, I have a thermo neck with a metal pipe that goes to the coolant overflow tank. Some don't have this. I thought about swapping to the style with just a bleeder but never did.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

yep, just let it warm up and open that bleeder on the water pump tower till straight coolant comes out.
you may have to do it a few times

Funny thing is, I've only opened that bleeder when I fill my cooling system... I close it once coolant starts to come out... I've never warmed up the car and then opened up that bleeder, and I've never had any cooling troubles either.
I also opened the one on the thermo neck since I have that now instead of that extra cross over tube to the tank.

so i had a coolant leak. lost about a gallon O_O im trying to figure out where to fill this back up at. i put some in the radiator, and with the engine cold, forcing some in into that thermo neck bleeder. im thinking when the thermo opens, it will start sucking the coolant from hte bottle rig i have. am i doing it right or am i going to cause some catastrophic meltdown and end life as we know it? i sure hope i dont go too far with doing it the wrong way if i am lol.ENGINE HAS INTERNAL DAMAGE.
