  • LIM gasket set

After having success (with help from here) correcting the LIM gasket problem on my youngest son's 96 Cutlass, I'm gonna get busy correcting the same problem on my oldest sons 98 Grand Prix with a 3100. I've spent a couple of hours searching and reading but am still confused as to what LIM manifold gasket to purchase and where to purchase it from. The vin is 1G2WK52J7YF3. Am I correct that this vehicle has roller pivot rockers? At Rock Auto (saw some others posting about purchases from this company) I found the Fel Pro MS98004T gasket set. I think this is the set I need. Can you guys enlighten me? Thanks - Scotty

Yes that is the set you want. Its the metal ones so they will not crack and fail again.

I thought it should be a M code engine. That is going to make the differance to what gasket you need.

it should be, i've never heard of a 98 getting one. only the VERY late 99s were supposed to have gotten them... then they were standard after that...

You guys are on the ball. I ran the vin and checked the title. It is a 2000. Sorry for the goof. Does the Fel Pro MS98004T gasket set still stand as the correct set? - Scotty

These guys now their $hit about these vehicles. I wouldn't have caught that.

I'm pretty sure the gasket set you need is MS98003T. That's the gasket set that my 2001 Lumina used.
