Question : 3.1 intake manifold issue?

I've heard horror stories about intake manifold gaskets on the 3.1's. I was wondering if there is any validity here and if so a way to resolve the issue. One would assume you could find a carbon fiber gasket and the gasket would not have nearly as many issues, that is if one is available. I got an '02 malibu with the LG8 3.1. It was a corporate car its whole life and its got 132000 commuter miles. looks clean runs great. I'm gunna go ahead and replace the gasket just in case but I'd like to know if i should get something beefier than stock.
