My 1997 lumina has been running hot recently sometimes close to the red but is has yet to overheat. I replaced the lower intake gaskets last year, new radiator cap, water pump. Last month I changed to a 180 degree thermostat to help the problem and it has helped some. I pressure checked the system and there are no leaks. The temp sensor works and both fans come on when they are supposed to. It has dexcool in it and I'm thinking about changing from dexcool antifreeze to the green antifreeze. Is this a good idea? I'm located in the central valley california and it is quite hot here but my other cars run fine.
