  • Engine wont start...HELP

i've got a 2.8 mpfi in my camaro, i took my throttle body and EGR off because of a suspected coolant leak and was trying to figure out where the leak was coming from.

Prior to taking the Throttle body and EGR off, my car started alright, sometimes was hard to start but always started. I DO know that it is getting gas, while turning it over, i can smell the gas.

What do you think i may have done to create this? as i said, it ran before i took it off. i put it back exactly how i took it off. i did take out two spark plugs to see if they were wet, which they weren't. i did put them back and re-attach the wires.

I'm really stumped as to why it wont fire up. it turns over..but thats it.

You might sit down a make a list of everything you did or touched during your look-see and removal of the EGR Valve and Throttle Body to search for the leak. Did you re-connect the sensor connectors on the EGR and the ones of the TB properly? If you are getting fuel...but no spark...check to see if your Ignition Control Module Harness Connectors are all in place (Unplug and Re-Plug them). If you have a Multi-Tester, have a look at your ICM and Coil Packs for the proper readings. You can also do the "Screw Driver in the Spark Plug Wire Test" to ensure you are really getting a spark. You didn't say, but was it necessary to remove anything else? Did you find the leak your were trying to fix? If so...where and what was the problem? What else did you work on?
