  • Engine Flooding

When I parked my car last fall, it ran pretty good. I built a set of headers and opened up my upper intake at the throttle body a little over the off season. When I went to start the engine, I'm finding that I'm dumping fuel into the cylinders to the point that it's draining into the oil pan. I got it started for a short time but it wasn't running too good. I've replaced the FPR and the pressure with the engine running is about 47-48. Not sure what could have changed over the 8 months it was parked. I'm thinking it must be the injectors at this point but wanted to run this past the group in case I'm missing something. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Oh, I've got a Gen 2 3.1 with a 2001 Gen 3 top end.

    Thanks

Try cranking the motor then listen to see if the injectors are still spraying when you stop. I had a problem with a short with a 3.1l mpfi i swapped into my fiero that caused the injectors to get held open at all times.
