cylinders were bored & matched with over size pistons by machine shop so not shure why there should be piston slap or noise.

What type of piston was used? My 3400 I built with Hypereutectic pistons with a DurOshield® skirt coating and to this day it still makes noise that resembles valve train noise 75k miles later and still running strong.
