  • Head front or back does it matter?

    As the title says......
I feel like a moron asking but i need to know.
The car in question is my 03 pontiac grand pain in my @#$ am.
I mean they look the same but want to be sure i have to replace the back head (my own stipidity) after going over the torque setting for the rocker arms one of then decided to pull the threads out of the head.
lesson one torque wrenches are your friend.
It would be much quicker to pull one from the front of another car rather than pull the back.
    thanks.

Heads are like socks, not shoes. Side doesn't matter.

If it just pulled the threads you can use a thread repair kit time sert brand is the best in my opinion I think it's 8mm X 1.25 I have done a bunch of these & they last forever.

I know what you mean with the socks.
            Thanks for the replies.
I will look into the tread repair kit first.
I'll let you all know if i break anything else.

The only real consideration is whether one of the heads already sports a water temperature sensor (in-dwelling) that has to mate up to the PCM pigtail connector at some particular location in the engine compartment, and perhaps the need to put a proper plug in its opposite member with some non-hardening thread sealer. This is a job more easily done B4 the heads are bolted on the block...
