  • 3.4 low coolant light/ sensor

    Subject 3.4 Chevy Impala

Where and how hard would it be to replace my low coolant sensor?

My coolant is not low but sometimes the light will flash for a few moments when I start my car and then go out.

    Many thanks for your help

Thoes things get stickey sometimes. THe sensor is on the resivoir bottle. Tak it out and wash out all the crap.

I had this problem once and couldn't figure out for the life of me what it was. I ended up pulling the resevior tank and ran some cleaner through it (Simple Green I think). You wouldn't believe the crap that came out of that thing!!! Anyway, flushed it several times until I could actually tell the tank was semi-transperent again, put it back in and the longer had the problem. So that's the first thing I would check because its quick, easy and free.

        could not find

I should of mentioned that I have a 2000 Impala. I looked at my recovery tank and did not notice any wires on it.

Are you guys sure I have a coolant sensor on it?

        Thanks again
