i just bought a 1993 grand prix with a 3.1 wont run the guy said he had it running at idol at the car just stoped it turns over and has fuel but no spark im thinking crank sensor i have a new one but where the heck is it on this car anyone have a diagram oh this or an idea ???????????????????

Needs to be in the PUSHROD section.
Crank position sensor is located on the rear of the engine (the side facing the firewall). It is a PITA to do. There is also the risk that when you try to remove it, it will break off, and have a big hassel to get it out.
I will try to get a pic of where it is for you when I get my scanner reloaded.Taylor

Ugh. I just went though that with my 2.8. When you try to pull it out, I'd suggest spin it and spin it some more as you pull on it. I went with a screwdriver to try and pry it out and broke it up. Ended up having to drop the oil pan to push it out.
The problem is the end swells up a bit and the usual crud on it prevents it from coming out. Try to spin it to wear all the crud off, otherwise there's a good chance you'll need to drop the pan.

I thought I had a better pic, but this one will have to do for now.
This is the BACK of the engine. This is actually on a 3.4 DOHC (that is why the alternator is on the back), but the Crank Position Sensor is located in the same spot on the 2 engines.
