  • What are all these o rings and gaskets for?

There are 18 o rings/gaskets counting the group of 6 as 1. 1 and 5 are hard to see because they are almost the same color as the background. I know what most of them are but I would like to know what they all are. Does anyone know what they all are?

oil pan, timing cover, rear main, front main, water pump, distributor mounting, distributor tube, water neck, oil filter housing, cam sensor, crank sensor, rear cam seal, oil pump, oil drain plug.

Not sure what #13 is. (edited) cross main bolt seals

It appears to be FelPro part # CS9471? I may have one at the shop and could read them off to you, but I'm going from memory here.

          EDIT again:

one looks like either the dampener/main bearing repair sleeve.

          3 left...

EDIT: oil low level sender? I know the 3.4 iron head has them, does the 3400?

FF got most of the ones i knew.. and #5 looks like the lower FPR Oring.. i'd say 3 is the upper FPR Oring and 4 is the fuel line Oring for the rail inlet.

Yeah, but this is a block gasket set, wouldn't those come in the top end kit?

Yes I thought it was a FPR o ring as well but the box doesn't say. It has a couple that are just listed as O-Ring. Ill post the box specs soon..

Could someone list the names of these with their corrisponding number in the picture? I have the felpro conversion set and am having a hard time figuring out what goes where as it was over a year ago that I tore the engine down.

GM stopped using the side main pan bolts on the newer 3400 and 3500's... neither one of my 04 and 05 motors has those side pan seals.

Also I've never heard of a rear cam seal... at least not on a 3400 since they have a freeze plug style cap at the end.

maybe I'm mistaken and it's just the 3400... Either way the current motor in my car does not have those side pan seals.

I have 2 3500's here, and they both have the cross-bolts and rings on them (caps 1,2 and 3). Correct on the cam "freeze plug".

I have the same problem. Bought a re-built engine that came with the gaskets they didn't use. I'm wondering what #14 is. A hard plastic washer.
