I got a 02 3100 malibu, do they still have the lim gasket problen, i was told the 02 had that problem corrected. and if not when was that problem corrected. thanks

The problem wasn't corrected until 2004/5. But that doesn't mean yours will fail. I never had an LIM gasket fail on my old car.

      intake leak

Thanks for the reply. my intake is leaking at the transmission end, discovered that today, i'll have to change it, do you have a preference as to what replacement gasket is best. I never adjusted the valves on a 3100 v6. could you clue me. i'm from the old school, small and big blocks. the little bit i read says its done in inch lbs. is that correct. I can't see no sign of coolant in the oil, that doesn't mean there isn't some in there.

Some times you get lucky and only get a external leak. I think the best intake gasket is the fel-pro metal one MS98003T. The rockers are non adjustable you just tighten them down to the proper torque spec.
