Ok, I just fixed the IAC problem not to long ago.
Now the car is doing it again (not as severe tho)! Damn it. It does not like to startup right away without turning it over for a while, and most of the time it just wont catch unless you 'give it some gas'
Is it the IAC again?? How can that be if it is?? Grr...
Maybe its a vacuume leak? I just replaced some broken platic hose (one that goes to the vacuum tank) with some new rubber hose... And on a side note, when you pump on the brake pedal, the rpms will go up! UGH! Stupid car.

are you getting any codes or anything?

does it do it once its warmed up?

i am having similar problems with my 3400 swap, but i think its because the computer is not set for the larger injectors. but once its warmed up she starts right up and idles fine. mine only does it first thing of a morning or if its sat for a long time.

i may have to swap out the IAC because i have like 4 of them laying around, lol.

No. No codes. This has happened before... But I thought the mechanic fixed it because it ran great, and started perfectly. But now it has gone back to shit again.

It starts much better when warmed up than cold. The RPMs also dont bounce up and down as much when warm. I am using the 3100 injectors and FPR.

The mechanic told me when he fixed it, that the IAC was set to think that the enigne is always at WOT!!! wtf!

There has to be something to do with my brakes also (the ABS is screwed up, the module needs to bled by the dealership, so the pedal goes down farther than normal, and I have less braking power...) Blah. Stupid car.

RPM's changing with the brake indicates a vacuum leak within the booster. This would for sure cause idle problems. Remove and plug the hose (for sesting purposes) and see if the idle improves.

Thanks. I'll try the hose removal. I bet it is the booster (I replaced it last year)

As for the pump and filter... Filter is fuct. There is no way to remove it. It is rusted completely to the fuel lines (I've tried to remove it, but stopped in fear that I would break them). No way to change it. Pump, Hmm... I don't know, it sounds like its running fine before you start the car up...

Man you gotta get that filter off. Your gonna have to use some serious amounts of penetrating jube and get some line wrenches on it and get thoes connections off.

truely, I changed my fuel filter last summer and gained so much. Throtle response is better, a little better top end, and a much smother idle. Mine was totaly rusted on also, lots of penatrating oil will take care of that.

I could change the pump. I am terrified of trying to remove that filter!!! If I break the lines... I will be royally fuct. What do you do *if* you snap the lines??

(and yeah, the filter needs to be changed badly!! Its comming up on 177,000 miles!!!)

No not that kind of lube. Use liquid wrench or GM Penetrating Lube. WD40 will not penetrate and break down the corosion.

                              try PB Blaster, good stuff

also, my filter was rusted on and no matter how much crap i put on it to break it loose it wouldnt come off. so what i did was cut the fuel line with a mini pipe cutter and used some high pressure rubber fuel line and double clamped it on the cut end of the stock fuel line. then i took a brass fitting that had the threads on one side to fit into the filter and then the hose nipple thing on the other side for the rubber hose to clamp onto and double clamped it.

works perfect and i have had no problems pulling it off or leaks in the 2 years i have had it this way.

i know your up north and if you ever decide to come down to the cities, just let me know and we can compare notes and stuff

by the way, have you updated your site lately with other cars that have done the swap?
