  • Resolved : Power Steering Vibration.

    My car drives again!

    But...
My power steering is vibrating and the engine sounds strange when i turn wheel. This problem started up at the exact same time as engine problems. Would this just be caused by weakness of engine due to bad fuel mixture?

    PS.
Whats a good method for setting a good low idle?

Is your serpentine belt tight/or wore. You may also have air in the power steering system as well.

If you need a PS pump, let me know, I just pulled mine off because I don't need it.

Did you have to put a rebuild kit including new floats into that flooding carb?...the idle should be set at the factory.....is the idle rpm off the OEM spec?

hey, thanks for the help. I figured it out. Bad valve lash causes 2 cylinders to be dead. and thus the power steering was putting too much load on weakened engine and the whole system misbehaved. it all cleared up when lash was readjusted.

You didn't notice 2 dead cylinders before your power steering pump bogged the motor?
