  • glowing plug wire?

i was trying to find a small exhaust leak in the dark(narrowed it down to the headers) and i noticed one of my plug wires was glowing inside (with the spark) with higher rpms. they are new ac delco wires, mabye 7k on them, installed with new engine.. i dont notice it missing, but sometimes at idle it likes to run rough and die. still in the middle of tunning.

would you say its fine or go spend $40 on a new set of wires? or toss on one 3500 wire that has 24k on it for the time being(dont wanna spend extra right now if i dont have to).

Toss a spare wire on it and see what happens... New or not it could be a faulty wire.

I would try a different wire. I've seen headers glow but never a plug wire.

      Mark.

take a video of that shit or something. is it glowing at the end where it connects to the coil packs, or where it goes onto the spark plug, or in between?

could be a hairline crack in the insulator or boot. spray some water on it while its running, if it arc then def replace it. does it act up with the winter weather/rain?
