i have a 95 monte, 3100. at normal cruising speeds it seems to either missfire, hestitate, sputter. if i kick it into passing gear...its still there, and if i stand on it...seems to make a popping noise...like its coughing. i ran dianostics on it... no codes have been set. when it's in park or neutral it seems to rev up fine. it has 166000 on it, the fuel pump and filter replaced at 156,000. don't know where to start since no codes have been set. i have a dodge diesel...that when the convertor is at that lock, unlock stage...it shutters some...what this monte feels like...but it doesn't seem to come out of it...like my truck. it has also had one coil replaced at about the 150,000 mi mark, heads redone at chev dealer,and the felpro gasket put in for intake at 135,000. any help would be greatly aprreciated!! thanks!

With no codes it makes to kind of tough. How old are the plgs and wires and fuel filter? Try cleaning the passage that goes through the intake for the EGR. -
the fuel pump, and fuel filter at 156000. plugs and wires...i think when the heads were done. i'm almost wondering if it is the lock up selenoid...either i don't notice it when i manually shift it, or it goes away.Comment

When was your last Tranny Service? Smell The Fluid and/or Compare new fluid with yours. Pull Plugs. Throw some new AcDelco plugs and see. And Good injector cleaner in the tankComment

i'm not sure on the trans part...i'll do that tonite...i have to pull it into my shop, creamed a deer this morning!! hopefully i can get it driveable tonight. thanks for they help. what do you suggest for injector cleaner, i've used valvoline syntec in a chrysler concord that has injectors that gum up during the winter...and it seems to work fine on that motor. thanks again.Comment
