  • bad o2?? wtf

so i installed a heated o2 sensor becaues the narrow band on my wideband was giving weird signals. the car ran so much better and smoother for a few days.. then on my way home from a night of drag racing my afr starts creeping all the way up to 21! but only on cruise and part throttle... tried a few different things and checked my code.. faulty o2 sensor code.. checked all my wiring again then i just hooked my narrow band back up from the wideband.. no code, afrs back to "normal"

this was a new heated o2 sensor... i have never heard of an o2 sensor do that to a car. do you guys have any ideas?

deffenetly weird.. did you give it a good ground?

I hooked up my heated one today, idle AFR's smoothed out.. they sit around 15.0.. they used to run up into the 19's when i ran the NB sim. I'm going to datalog it in the morning to see how far the tune was off because of the simulated NB output.

im pretty sure i gave it a good ground, i used an existing one in my engine bay and just soldered the ground wire in the existing connector

wow thats a big difference! did u run a low 13 with the nb sim?

how lean do you have to run to melt a piston or something? ive always wondered that and have been thinking about it since my car was acting up. will the temp go way up?
