  • Stripped rocker arm bolt, in need of part #

    Hi,

Im looking for a part number for the Rocker Arm Bolt for a 2003 3.4L Impala.
Mine stripped out and I'd like to replace it with new, but I have to retap the head.
Anyone know if its a Metric or Stanard tap and die I need to use or should I just go with a bigger bolt?

Just use a Helicoil. You should not need a new stud if you stripped the aluminum threads in the cylinder head.

The threads are M8X1.25 in that year I believe. But just take the stud to the parts store and pick the correct Helicoil pack.

A Helicoil thread insert will be stronger than the stock aluminum threads. Aftermarket heads already come with this modification done. So if you feel like it do all the threads.
