  • Question : Failing fuel pump--> bad fuel economy?

I have a 3400 ran off a 7730 comp in my fiero and lately my gas mileage has been noticeably worse, 35mpg down to 29mpg. No codes are thrown and my engine along with my sensors are all relatively new, 23k miles and 4 years. The only thing old is my fuel pump. Could a worn fuel pump decrease my gas mileage? any other ideas? thanks

It should make your mpg better by running leaner. Check your fpr and injectors lately?

      O2 sensor(s)?
      '98 Volvo V90 - Ford 5.0 swap in progress
'96 LR Range Rover 4.6 HSE - suspiciously reliable
'92 Volvo 740 Wagon - former parts car, now daily-driver beater

as his power decreases over time though he'd probably be into the pedal more
