I was going to install a 3.4L in a Trooper, but the engine I got was junk. The owner decided to limp the 2.8L along for a while longer, but the heads are shot (burnt valve and cracked). So, we pulled the heads off the junk 3.4L and had the machine shop clean, check and surface them. But, I already bought the head gaskets for the 3.4L, not the 2.8L. Is it safe to use them on the 2.8L block?

Yeah, shouldn't be a problem that I can see. About the only thing to worry about would be the diameter being larger than needed. The only downside to that would be a slightly lower CR than normal.-Brad-
