  • Crankshaft Sensor

Sometimes my 88 buick regal simply shuts off while driving, no spark and it didn't start for around 1 hour.. past days the problem got more frecuently, so i decided to find out the problem.

After a few sensor tests (ECM wasn´t setting error codes) i decided to change the Crank Sensor. First i took around 20 minutes to find it, and have to take out the alternator to reach it from up, and also i have to crawl under the car to get it...

The problem began when i was trying to take out the sensor, the plastic was too cracked, and the sensor came out in many pieces, now the problem is that the half of the sensor stills inside the block and i cannot reach it, i've trying to make holes to put it out, but it won't, it's completly stuck in the block...

What can i do? How can i take out the oil's carter to reach the sensor from inside? Any clues?

Hmm your gonna have to pull the pan I think. You may have to beark it up into pieces to get it out. But hey at least you know what the problem is.
