I ordered the Dorman metal gaskets today, they might be decent, and cheaper than FailPro! LOL!

Dorman gives auto repair professionals and vehicle owners greater freedom to fix cars and trucks by focusing on solutions first.

I'm new to this world of melted caramel in the valve cover. I must have just caught it. I followed your link and don't see a Dorman gasket for 3100 (94 Olds Cutlass Supreme). I've been to two parts houses and they both have the FelPro plastic.
            Anyone know a FelPro, Dorman or ? part# for 94 3100 application?

Maybe dorman doesn't make it for the older cars. Not sure if all that's different is the upper gasket or not, but to be sure use the one for the right year.

              For the felpro all metal for a 94 3100 it's MS98004T.

Yeah I don't know if Dorman makes it for the older ones or what. I bought mine from rockauto.com $56 shipped for the kit.

I pay $42 for my fel-pro's... got a set on my 96 3100 in the retta now, and I'm putting a set on my moms 01 GA soon... I love my uncles store

Wow that kit comes with bolts... I'm impressed.

Why doesnt felpro make 3500 gaskets yet... I hate paying 100+ for a set from the dealer. I don't dare re-use the ones that just came out either... I would HATE to have them fail because I was being cheap.

Jon, Felpro is coming out with a set soon (metal). Early spring IIRC.

As far as bolts, I just cleaned mine really well, and applied fresh thread locker when I've replaced mine.

I'll call Felpro tomorrow and see how they are coming along with the 3500 gaskets. I've been meaning to all week since i need a set to put my engine back together as well.

Hey, if they have them done then I need a set too... BUT only if they are the metal ones... I don't want to dump another 100 on a GM set of plastics.

I talked to them for a while today, he said that there was a p/n assigned to them however they hadn't been released yet. They have released the 3500 upper gasket though, I believe the P/N was MS-90505.

He said the new LIM gaskets should be released sometime during the 1st quarter, no approximate date though.

I'm not waiting anymore, gonna order the GM ones tonight.
