I torqued my 97 lumina's to 25 ft/lbs. then drove it for another two years w/o problems--even after I found out that at 35 ft/lbs the threads in the heads are at the max!. yep! heli-coiled it! i didn't have a way to measure degrees haha oh well!

            1 flat = 60 degrees.

Note that Geldartb said 124 INCH-pounds plus 30 degrees. Not Foot-pounds. There's always some rocket-scientist who confuses these two... resulting in broken parts.

damn that reminds me i need an inch pounds torque wrench and a torque wrench that goes higher than 75 ft lbs. at the time that was higher than anything i was doing.

True enough... but it happens all too often.

i you can't torque the rockers to 124 ft/lbs. the threads will strip out waaayy before that. damn aluminum.

Hrmmm I always just made them tight... without a torque wrench... never had a problem with mine.

                        Impact gun FTW!

I forget what I put mine at but it's what chiltons said and it's just torq and this it, no extra turning. Done it 3 times and no problems.
