  • Push rod lengths

We are replacing the lower intake manifold gasket in a 99 Buick Century with a 3100 V6. To replace the gasket we needed to remove the push rods. They were taken out and placed on the bench and in the proper order. Top and bottom of the rod was also maintained. Upon installation we noticed one of the rods was not touching the rocker arm. One must have been mixed up. Regardless of cam location, this can not be correct. The push rod must maintain contact with the rocker arm at all times. I need a diagram of location and length of each push rod.

    Thanks in advance.

Exhaust pushrods are longer than the intake pushrods. The rockers are staggered and the ones closer to the middle of the engine are the intake.

That's exactly what I needed. We eventually figured out the pattern, but that confirms it. Thanks a lot.

question for you i just did head gskts on 96 3100 vin m & i am haveing problems with the valves now? I had no comp when i first turned it over I had to take the covers back of & loosen up the valves & play with the adjustment to get comp and start it it ran for a little bit & i shut it off & retorqued the valves but it has tiaking & one or two still too tight

the intake gskts had a what looked like a push rod guide boss on them & this is sitting on the metal guides looks like it could be putting too mutch sideways pressure on the intake p rods you thinke this could be my prob ?

I would be very thankfull for any insight on this issue thank you very mutch
