  • 1995 Chevy Monte Carlo

    Hi,
I have a 95 Monte with bad a bad LIM gasket. I plan on changing the questionalbe head gasket while I have the top end apart.

My question is, do I need the gasket kit with or without pushrod guides?

This is the one i'm looking at purchasing currently:

    Thanks

your best bet is to head to an auto store and ask for the felpro gaskets for your 3.1 they are afik the best ones for our motor

1995 has the STAMPED STEEL rockers, so you will need the set WITHOUT the pushrod guides.

The roller rockers have the guides built into the lower intake manifold gaskets, and the stamped steel have metal guides that attach at the base of the rocker stud.

Get the set WITHOUT the guides.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I would be buying the Felpro set, but the local parts store wants about $380 for the headgasket kit. Considering i'm going to turn around and sell the car once i get the engine back in working order, I'd much rather spend $63
