a gm dis module will run an engine without any input from the pcm. if you remove the bypass wire (supplies 5 volts to signal the icm to use the pcm timing inputs when the engine is running) the engine will still run, itll just be at fixed timing. the pcm doesnt controll timing till after the engine is running, the first couple second is all the icm.

if the pcm is getting a tach signal and injecting fuel, its getting the tach signal from the module, meaning the cps is good.

im not sure what to say.

Yeah, the PCM is getting a tach signal, but the tach on the dash is not, and I've still got no spark :P

        UPDATE!!!

Yes, I checked the CKP again and the sensor is definitely great. I checked signal at the sensor and at the ICM, so no problems with the wires. I checked and the ICM is getting power when the key is turned to "ON" as it is supposed to.

The only thing it is lacking is a signal from the ECU.

The ECU seems to be fine because it gets a tach signal, it tells the injectors to fire (and they do, and it smells of fuel).

So, why would the ECU not tell the coils to fire?

Hey! You guys were right, it was a ground, wire was cracked\corroded on the inside :P Resoldered it and now I'm good.

Well, except for a "24X signal invalid" code and a "Coolant Sensor High Reading" code.

          Blegh.
