  • TPS senser???

i didnt replace my TPS senser yet but when i start up my 3.1 sometimes she will idle arouns 1700 rpm then level out. but when i hit the gas while she is ideling that high she will bog out then regain. my check engine light comes on but then goes off. i read in my Haynes book that i cannot check my codes w/ my simple plug in reader. ive tried it and no code come up. shouldnt these codes be logged in the system even know the check engine light goes out. oh also she wants to cut out sometimes "miss" when i have her under a load.

    any help would be great!!!

    Respectfully,
    Phil

tps likley has nothing to do with it.

first off, what year and car do you have. you may be able to pull codes out of it by jumping 2 pins on the diagnostic plug, but that depends on the year. either way, if the check engine light comes on, it has set a code and it will store it in the ecm, even if the light goes out. if you are unable to scan it yourself, take it to a reputable shop and have them scan it.

my car is a '95 z26 beretta 3.1L and i looked today and on my OBDI i am missing the {B} terminal or i mean the diagnostic terminal. the ground is there and i believe the serial data {M} terminal. what are my options? also if i look for the missing wire would you happen to know its color?

You can't jump it on OBD1.5, which is 94-95 beretta. You will need a scanner to see what codes there are.
