there's no way that engine restore would band aid that.
i think it was the filter.
becuase when you rev the engine it (noise) goes away.
then it stay away while at idle till like a 5-10minutes later.

when she hits another 500miles i'ma change out the oil again.
cheap ass oil filter almost screwed up my engine.....

While I doubt that the blame lies with the filter... and I doubt the word "almost"... I'll concur with the "screwed up my engine" part. The lack of coherent posts makes diagnosis via intranetts impossible... but no engine does what you've described without incurring (or having incurred at some point) MAJOR damage. I strongly suspect that on your other thread (the misfire thread) you're chasing your tail trying to diagnose a driveability/tuning problem when what you really have is a significant mechanical failure.

oh no i found the problem on that.....which has ahppened in the past.
there's this blue harness by the pcm area (not the blue connector on the pcm) and that has been causing all sorts of problems...and it looks like it has with the previous owner too.
becuase it was sticky as if tape was over it.

but today it was bad and the gauge was twiching all crazy it time a bass note hit, etc.

so i used the cruise control and everytime the gauge would twich the cc would get confused.

so i touched it and the speedo twiched so i dissconnected the harness and the engine shut off, follwed by a consistant alert ringing.

there was no metal particals on the drain plug, or filter and oil i used a white rag.

the bottom end is okay because there's NO WAY that this engine could run without oil on the bottom end and not have any type of noise.
and the cam shaft it being hollow...it would've broke!

Revving the engine also causes higher oil pressure, this could be why your noise stops when giving it gas. Let me ask you this: Does it tick when it's cold or when it's warm or both? I wouldn't blame the filter so hastily, I'd double check everything to make sure that car is getting oil, if it's not going to make it very far. I had the same things happen to me with a truck once. I tried everything to band aid it but in the end I had to put main bearings and a new oil pump in it to fix it good enough to drive.

nope...it does have that famous gm sound for a few soconds...people say thats the piston slap.
            which occurs on 3.1mpfi, 3100, 3400, 3800, and the v8's.

but they don't sound like piston slap.
other then that...oh yea i forgot i did oil pressure test.
and i adjusted the oil pressure sensor that way it whould have simular specs as to what i seen on the pressure gauge.

            and when FULLY warmed.
            at 1100rpms min 15psi.

right now i could leave her running all the time and it get hot under there...no ticking

Yeah, a little ticking to start up is normal. Sounds like everything might be in order then.
