Ok so i just got a 84 carberated blazer with a 2.8 v6. Now i rebuilt the carb, did a electric fan and all that got rid of the smog system. But it seems like i go through way to much gas..on the highway babying it i get about 18mpg...apparently im suposed to get 25 mpgor so. After some more looking and searching i seen that what they did was when the old engine blew they used a engine out of a tb engine so they changed it over to a electric fuel pump and capped off the return line. Could this be my problem? if so how do i fix it? I also seem to have a problem with deisiling when i shut it off so obviously there is excess fuel in the cylinders...it seems sluggish till higher rpms..very gutless to be honest...any help would be awsome..phil

It could be since fuel injection is usually higher pressure, but TB injection isn't as high as say SFI/etc.

Yah..well see im carbed tho..thats the issue..i know it needs very low pressure but i havent been able to find the recomended carb fuel pressure..also ith the return fuel line not hooked up i dont know if that is an issue (not sure on the workings of it). I was thinking if i could find the recomende fuesl pressure and then measure mine and see where i stand i could always regulate it down to a better level..now where to find mechanical fuel pump pressures!
