  • 3500 lim gasket options

I keep hearing about these problem saver lower intake manifold gaskets, which I think would be ideal for a hybrid turbo setup. I'm having trouble locating a set, though. I'm using a 3100 block with a 3500 head/LIM and a 3400 UIM. My question is this, what are my options for gaskets for the intake manifold gaskets, and where can I get my hands on them??

    Any help is appreciated.

i'm using the GM 3500 LIM gaskets... i don't think there is an aftermarket replacement out yet.

the 3500 top end shouldn't have the issues that the older stuff did.

BTW, you can't use the 3500 heads on a 3100, the combustion chambers overlap the cyl walls. you'll probably end up blowing headgaskets left and right.

GM is the only place to get 3500 LIM gaskets at this point and time.

IIRC you cant use 3500 heads on a 3100 block due to combustion chamber overlap on the head gasket..... I think you need at least a 3400 block to use 3500 heads...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

            Thanks.

            Crap.

Thanks for the heads up. I never realized that. I guess it's back to the
3100 heads and intake. I'll have to save the heads and intake for the next engine I'm going to build when I inevitably blow this one.

            Thanks, Chris

              Plan B

Ok, since I am relegated to the old style 3100 intake manifold, what are the part numbers for the problem saver gaskets for the 3100 old style, or maybe a link to buy them online??

              Thanks again, Chris

NO use a 3400 top end, that will fit a 3100 block with 3100 head gaskets.

Probelm solver gaskets can be found on Autozone's website, or Advance Auto Parts website. I'm not sure on their part numbers.

Felpro makes the metal gaskets you want...

and yes, use a 3400 top end... and a 3500 plenum.
