  • fuel pressure ?

In my '89 beretta I finally got the 3400 install completed and now have an issue(or 2) When it is completely cold it will start and run fine until it warms up, then it runs real rough and low rpm. If I touch the throttle it dies.
It also will not start while warm. I bought a fuel pressure gauge and put it on tonight to see a whopping 10 psi at most. I tried pinching the fuel return closed and checked the FPR for leakage to the vacuum line with no change in pressure. When I pressthe bleed button on the pressure gauge. the needle drops to 0 and bounces. If I listen to the pump while I am doing this, it changes in pitch in rythm to the gauge bouncing. I am going to change the FF tomorrow to see if that will help but I "think" I need a Fuel pump.
    Am I right?

If the fuel pump is bad how hard is it to change?

    Bump!

I am pretty sure it is the pump now, filter wasn't it! is there anything else that can cause low/ no fuel pressure?
How hard to drop the tank to R2 the pump?

its not hard. you gotta unbolt the metal straps that hold the tank in, and make sure the filler is unhooked ,and use a jack to lower it. if its full of gas it might be a bit harder.. once the tank is down its pretty easy.. d

Thanks for the input! I dropped the tank tonight and the hardest part was getting the fill and vent tube disconnected. I used the test gauge and a gas can with the pump running to pump out as much gas as I could so that made it alot easier. With the new pump I have 60 psi with the key on and 50 at idle. BTW what is the fuel pressure supposed to be on a 3400?

3100 is around 42 i think at idle so im guess the 3400 should be the same or close..50 may be right
