well guys i got the car back together and the damn thing still rattles at idle with the clutch engaged with the car in neutral... well not to long ago i slung a belt and now i think the thrust bearing needs replaced and thats what causing the noise..... what do you think? can i buy just the thrust bearing... this rattle is so annoying. its got a slight knocking but once i give it alittle gas it stops.. if i disengage the clutch it stops most of the noise.. but not all of it... what do you all think? should i drop the oil pan and see if its bad?? it sounds like most of the knock is coming through tranny but i have already had that apart and theres nothing that would cause a rattle or noise..

this sounds more like a rod knock then the standard 282 throwout bearing... im going to see in the morning if i can get the crank to move in and out and if i can im going to drop the pan... probably still will if it doesnt.. sounds engine based but im praying its just that ive destroyed that thrust washer and i can roll a new one in its place..
