  • cruise control?

    1991 Grand Prix SE 3.1

Weird, my cruise control just stopped working the other day. Checked the fuse and it was fine. It's the same fuse for the dash cluster. Are there under hood fuses for the cruise as well, or what else may be the problem?

    check:
    -vacumn lines to cruise control
-brake disengage switch, not sure where it is, it may be incorporated with the brake light switch? dunno.
-clutch disengage switch if manual trans (the one for cruise is at the TOP stop of the clutch not the one on the floor... that one is for the starter only)

Could be the switch on the handle itself..

try lifting the brake pedal upwards with your foot behind it and see if the cruise engages while driving (carefully). It's more than likely electrical, especially if you haven't been underhood doing anything like changing the battery or any other way of knocking off the vacuum line.
