  • how about this theory on the o2/rich problem

The car runs rich and doesn't seem to go into closed loop. 20mins last night on a scanner and it said 'loop open' the whole time. The o2 stayed around .4 volts.

Today I hooked a multimeter directly to the o2 and got the same thing. .399 - .408. This was while the car was warm and had been driven. I jumped A&B and got nothing but fast SES flashing. (open loop)

Also was getting code 13 until I had battery disconnected early yesterday. I'm sure I'll get it again.

I'm also losing fuel pressure, and the only place left I haven't eliminated is the injectors.

    All cylinders are firing.

Could a leaky injector(s) put enough unburnt fuel through the exhaust to screw up the o2, making the o2 cause the system to stay in open loop, causing it run all that much richer?

I had the same problem the first few weeks I ran the new engine with the new o2. I replaced it last week. I don't recall what the voltage was when I hooked up the multimeter before starting the car, pretty much nothing.

The sensor is made by 'tru-tech' or something like that. I'm getting an AC-delco from the dealership monday.

Hopefully Wednesday I'll have the new injectors and will get everything changed at the same time.
