  • running rich, no closed loop. some other things the scanner said

Car was idling for about 15 minutes and never went into closed loop. Had it revved up to 2k for a few minutes and the temp was up to 220.

o2 voltage varied from mV 408-480, also switched back and forth between lean and rich.

    maf 5
    proper step lean
    base PW (ms) 1.6
    loop open
    o2 crosscounts 16 to 33
    iac 20
    A/F learned - no
    integrate 128

temp reads fine, so I guess the sensor is good. I don't know if the maf is reading right or if the o2 is varying enough.

Can anyone make any sense of all that?

no codes yet (had the battery disconnected before driving 15 mins out to my friends house where the scanner is.

Tomorrow I'll probably order some new fuel injectors. They're the only things left that could be causing the fuel pressure loss, because nothing else is.

Just out of curiosity- what sort of scanner are you using? I've looked some up on ebay, but they never say whether or not you can read sensor data like this.

If I remember right, if the MAF sensor is reading 5 volts, then that's telling the computer that there's NO air flow. It should drop at least some when you rev the engine. I've run into a couple over the years that had crud or corrosion built up on those little sensor wires next to the vanes. Cleaned them off good and it made a difference.

An expensive scanner. I think it was a snap-on. The guy works at a shop and paid something like $2- 3000 for it. I think thats what he said anyway.
