3100 rockers on 3.1 not working need help big time

I put not roller tip, stock, rockers out of a 3100 at the junk yard and i put them on my 3.1. they do not work. i noticed immeditately that they open the valves really far and i figured that it would run weird.

I put 3100 stamped 1:6 rockers in my 3.1 heads and it worked juss fine as far as I can tell.. it seemed to give it more lope and Tq. but lashing them was a bitch, and i had to use the 3.1 pushrods kuss the 3100 ones were too short.. but ya.. no 5 cyl sound. all the pipes read 280-300 degrees C idoling.. so all they cyls are doing there job.. the rockers are a little noisy but they were always that way even with the stockers.. i blame that on the 262 cam

I found out that the reason was that I bent a valve. The rockers would have worked.

Did you say that you have to set the lashing? i thought that you just set the tourqe at 18 ftlbs.

You do just torque them to 18 ft-lbs. If you did not grab the pushrod guide plates from the 3100 equipped vehicle, then you will want to go back and get those. The 1.6 ratio rockers in a 3.1 MPFI will result in the pushrods bottoming out in the stock guide plates along w/ rubbing against the sides of them.
