  • 3100 rockers on 3.1 not working need help big time

I have put 3100 rocker arms on my 3.1. now it sounds like it is running on 5 cylinders. I check all of the plugs and they are all firing. Was i only supposed to change the intake rockers? what the heck is going on? the are all tightend to spec 18 ftlbs. Someone please get back to me soon.

Who told you to put 3100 rockers on a 3.1L?

I read it in previous posts on this site. it said that the 3100 rockers were 1.6:1 were as 3.1 rockers were 1.52:1. they said it would increase my horsepower. I made sure they are all on right. Can anyone help me?

You would need to buy the 1.6 rockers from the store for the 2.8/3.1 >MPFI< engine.

so the rockers from a 3100 will not work on a 3.1?

thank you and also I read that a 3100 intake manifold upper and lower together will bolt up with the 3.1 heads is that true or not?

                You'd need the heads too.

Who ever is telling you this info is leaving out A LOT of important information for you. Also, where you read the info, you should read ALL of it, not just parts of it. Just helping you out.

thank you very much, do you know of any little tricks I can do to give me a kick in horsepower? I already have an intake, exhaust, jet chip, coil pack,a/c bypass pully, slightly ported manifold, and 8.8 mm spark plug wires.

Explain the Intake, Exhaust, & coils.

UDP & Bens Chip (not the jet chip) . If you bought that resistor mod off ebay (or where ever) , take it out and put it back to stock. Others will chime in for more.
Search this site for more info.

the intake ia a cold air not a tiny short ram that you see on all berettas. the exhasut is stock 2 inch pipe no cat dynomax ultra flow muffler. th coils are summit 45000 volts less resistance. The jet chip is no a cheap resistor on the ait sensor. its a jet perfomce chip, i ordered it from summit, it plugs into my ecu, but i didnt notice a differenc the times at the track were not much different, maybe a tenth of a second in the 1/4 mile.

Where can i get the benz chip

Go to the 60degreev6 store for the chip.
I'd put the stock coils back in. They are enough for FI systems and NA systems.
2.5" is the proper upgrade exhaust (For NA) . I think 2.25 came stock for most V6 Beretta's.
Post pics of your intake setup. If it's not Alloy, mandrel bent tubing going into the wheel wheel, then it's not a CAI.

why put the stock coils back in, why do they sell hi-po coils if the stock are better? my intake is aluminum tubuing it goes down right above the left cross member, in front of the trani. Can i get a tb or will it not help?

so wait, you put roller rockers onto a 3.1L?> That's not gonna work. If you had 3100 stamped rockers that would work just fine.

Why do they sell huge wings? Why do companies sell "Vortex" intakes? To make money.

It's still in the engine bay, correct? =WAI

It'll help with other helping mods. (ported Upper/Lower Intake, Heads etc etc)
