  • 3100 problem

    ok here is the deal.a 96 grand am 3100 motor was running fine but had a blown intake gasket,so i replaced the gasket and put it all together.well ever since i did that,the rockers are tapping.i adjusted them like the book said.i was told collaps lifters,and i replaced them and still the same thing.i also replaced the rockers and pushrods because they were worn.well i have the same problem with the tapping.does anybody have a ideal on what it could be.i am lost

    Hmm. they don't ever quiten down now?

    Did you check the LIM to see if the rockers were hitting it? perhaps it's a clearance issue..

      Were you real careful to keep the pushrods in order? The intakes and exhausts are different lengths.
