    FUEL SENDER
The fuel sender consists of the float, wire float arm, rheostat and the roll-over valve.

Fuel level is sensed by the position of the float and float arm which operate the 90 ohm rheostat. As the float position changes, the amount of current passing through the rheostat varies, thus changing the gage reading on the instrument panel.

In other words 0 Ohm empty 90 Ohms full.

I have had conflicting reports that GM used 40-250 in some, however I always thought GM used 0-90 in most fwd cars.

40-250 was used in vetts mainly and some camaro firebird engine combos.

I've never heard of being used in any car.

Auto Meter is the closest at 33 full 240 empty.
