  • Stock LOW OUTPUT cam specifications?

I know, low ouput, who cares? Its one of the cams out there so i wanna know about it. I'm not a real speed demon, but i like some oomph. Its common sense that you get to 5000rpm befor 6000rpm, and i like to feel the power right off the line, so i'm thinking i'm going to redo my motor to deliver all its goods before 5000rpm. obviously this isnt the best cam for anything, not by itself anyways

If anyone has specifications for the low output cam from say an older 2.8 in an s-10 i'd like know the numbers please. like when valves open and close, and the durations. preferably @ .050". thanx in advance

Forget the compucams. They suck.. If you want low grunt get a high 240 low 250 duration cam. Get the one with the most lift to make big torque.

i plugged the numbers into dd2k, the valve open/close numbers work best at a "seat to seat" setting. at .050" they are whack. it looks like a ok cam, but im sure there is a better option. i downloaded a few cams a while back from i cant remember where, but the one that looks best is labled "comp162324". i dont think its from this site, i remeber calling around for specs a while back maybe i got it from jegs or summit. it looks to be keeping all the power between 3-5Krpm.

            seat-to-seat specs:
            adv lift .447"/.447"
            Duration 252/252
IVO (BTDC) 20 IVC (ABDC) 52
EVO (BBDC) 60 EVC (BTDC) 12
