Hey, got a question for anyone/everyone, what trans does my 87 S-15 2.8L have, and what other motor(s) will it bolt up to? I recently removed the ol 2.8 because it had a massive rod knock, then ceased up. Anyways, just wondering!

I believe its NWC Borg-Warner T-5. The bell housing will mount up to the 3.4l from a 93-95 v6 camaro. It will also mount up to a 2.5l 4-cylinder from an s-10. A 3.4l motor will transform your truck.

we have a SBC in my friends s-dime, its pretty fun, the kits are probally pretty cheap at this point since lots of people are doing it, or gm performance parts has the drop in motor kid for it also, i think they're a 4.3?, i don't remember.

Neither the 4.3 nor SBC will bolt up to that tranny. Another option is the 3.1 from F-body cars 90-92. GM have a 3.4 crate engine that's worth looking into as well.
