  • 3400 upper intake tightening sequence

The Haynes manual I have only covers the 3100 upper plenum sequence which has twice as many bolts as the 3400. Could someone post the proper tightening sequence for the 3400 upper plenum? I searched and couldn't find it in any previous posts.

    Thanks

Don't think I've ever seen a sequence for the upper plenum. In fact, I don't think there is one, or that it is really that critical. But, if you want to go in a sequence, I'd say do it like the head bolts. Start in the center, then move out to the ends, but on opposite corners. See below...

That would be it. That goes for any part with multiple fasteners. Start in the middle a criss cross outward. Also torque every thing in increments until you reach your final torque.

So if your final torque is 100LBS. Do everything to 50LBS then 75LBS and then finally 100LBS
